CHURDHAR TREK

Churdhar peak is situated on the border od Shimla and Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh.This is very beautiful peak. It is also called as Chud Chandni Dhar. Which means mountainsin snow bangles. This mountain is the highest peak in Sirmour district and outer Himalayas. The height of this peak is about 11965 feet above sea level.

Churdhar is such a place, by coming here you can see that it looks like heaven. The people here belived that Lord Shiva used to reside here with his family in ancient times. There is an ancient temple here. Which is famous by the name of Lord Shirgul Maharaj. Local people belived that they lived here in ancient times.According to the Puranas, Shirgul Devta Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

There is an ancient Shivling in the temple. It is said that Shivling was established by Adi Shankaracharya during his stay in Himachal. There are two holy water wells near the temple. It is belived that Lord Shirgul Mahadev himself brought this water from Mansarovar. The water of these wells never dries up. Before establishing the idol of any deity of this region, that idol is bathed with this holy water. Then it is establishing in the temple. The water of these wells is as pure as the Ganges water. A Shiva idol has been made at a height some distance away from this temple. The people here believed that Barbarik saw the war of Mahabharata from here. In ancient times,when Hanuman ji was carrying Sanjeevani buti for Lakshmanji, some buti had fallenon this peak. Even today, many different medicines and herbs are found in the peak here.

Nearest broad gauge railway head from Kalka. From here, there is another narrow guage railway line from Kalka to Shimla, a part of the Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. The nearest station to Churdhar on this line is Solan Railway Station and it is 66 km far from Nohradhar.

Day 01

Our representative meet you in Nohradhar, Nohradhar village the starting point of Churdhar trek. Then start your trek, There is a 14km trek from here, reach at a the Camping site on the way, marking the halfway point to Churdhar, Take some rest at Camping site or continue your trek to Churdhar. Over night Stay at Churdhar Camping.

Or

Our representative meet you in Sarahan Chaupal, Sarahan village the starting point of Churdhar trek. Then start your trek, There is a 6km trek from here, Take some rest on the way or continue your trek to Churdhar. Over night Stay at Churdhar Camping.

Day 02

At morning Enjoye the Churdhar valley view, After Breakfast start retun trek to Nohradhar or Sarahan Chaupla. Reach Nohradhar or Sarahan Chaupla, Here trek end with unforgettable memories.
