Narkanda is a hilly town and famous among tourists as a skiing resort in winter.
It is a nagar panchayat in Shimla district, in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
It is located at an average elevation of 2621 metres (8599 feet) on the Indo-Tibet Road (NH 22) in Himachal Pradesh and
connects Shimla with Rampur and to Thanedhar. Thanedar is the place where Satyananda Stokes started the apple culture
and it is the prime apple belt of Himachal Pradesh. It is about 65 km away from the state capital Shimla and surrounded by the Shivalik Range.
Hatu Peak is located at an altitude of 3400 m (11,155 ft) and it is considered as the highest point in Narkanda. The

It is about 8 kms from Narkanda and taxi can reach upto 7 kms from there trekking the steep mountain slopes is the only way to reach the peak.
The peak is famous for attractions like Hatu Temple and a small holy pond near temple.
Thanedar is about 8 Km from Narknada and one can eaisly reach their by taxi or local buses.
